Our grain and oilseeds activities comprise the originating and trading of principal cereals as well as the steadily growing volume oil seeds both within and outside of Hungary.
As of 1st January 2008, our Hungarian subsidiary became the exclusive supplier to Cargill’s wheat, maize, starch and sunflower and rape seed processing plants – both within and outside of the European Union – which enables consistent and competitive pricing.
In the past, exports formed the majority of the overall turnover. More recently, however, we have strengthened our connections with domestic customers and farmers. As a result of this, we have been able to create long-term suppliers’ contracts with our strategic domestic partners, thus providing farmers and businesses with a market outlet for their goods.
When Hungary joined the European Union (EU) in May 2004, the major part of the company’s foreign trade turnover moved to the sales on the EU markets.
Our high oleic sunflower-seed and waxy corn programmes provide farmers with extra income, stable market and pricing, and delivery flexibility. We look for partners, who can offer a minimum of 100 hectares in isolation for growing, supply them with several varieties of special sowing seeds and also provide financing if required.
