Financial Management Trainee
based in Budapest.
Position Details
Trainees are members of the Accounting team who work closely with their trading/forwarding/plants/logistics teams. During the traineeship, the trainee will acquire a large amount of knowledge on country local/worldwide finance and accounting activities that support our business units. Trainee will undergo a specific training program covering additional hands-on experience that will, subject to satisfactory performance, achieve a managerial position within the organization.
As a trainee, you could expect some or all of the following experiences within the first two years with Cargill:
- Initial assignment to a business unit or function
- On-going formal development training
- Mentoring provided by a Cargill finance manager
- A short-term assignment in another country
- A pan-European project in this position
Position Overview
In this position Trainee will handle general accounting and reporting responsibilities including assistance with preparation of P/L close and have responsibility for A/P, A/R, B/S reconciliation, various other tasks as assigned by manager
This role will over the two-year training period give an:
- Understanding of all necessary steps and controls in preparing the monthly P&L and reconciling it with commercial team, internal/external reporting requirements and ability to use all the software packages involved in this process
- Understanding of all performance measures used by the business and as a result enables the individual to undertake financial analysis projects
- Understanding of/ability to report Risk Positions in the areas of Commodities/Credit/Currency/Interest
- Understanding of the production process of Crush and Refining businesses and the essential controls over the process/product movement/administrative execution; controls and processes involved in purchasing of both P&L and capital items as well as main drivers and processes of all other functions in the business
Obtaining professional accounting qualification (CMA, CIMA or the like) during the time of the program is desirable
Principal Accountabilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reports: P/L, B/S and other reconciliations including preparation of journal entries
- Accounts Payable processing of open invoices
- Accounts Receivable collection and A/R Aging maintenance
- Assist Accounting Manager in ensuring there are sound internal control systems in place
- Complete special projects as necessary including new corporate initiatives
- Produce/analyze the result for a P&L Unit monthly in line with all policies. Complete all Management Reporting and control checks
- Follow up on all Business Issues related to that unit
- Undertake training in all areas of business as outlined in position overview
- Responsibility for monitoring & improvement in at least one Business Control Procedure
- Participation in improving the Processes, Reporting, and Analysis produced by the Department leading to enhanced control environment and high performance of business
- Financial support to Commercial/Plant team in assessing new projects and supporting initiatives with customers/suppliers

University degree in accounting, finance or economics
Strong PC Skills (Word, Excel)
